Monsters of the UFO Producer Passes Away

Lisa McIntosh, associate producer of "Monsters of the UFO" died on July 25, 2006, a victim of multiple myeloma cancer. She was only 42 years old.

This wonderful lady hailed from Charlotte, NC and had been living here in Southern California since 2001. Her enthusiasm and dedication in researching the paranormal was unmatched. She spent many countless hours lining up hard-to-get interviews and locations that would constitute the bulk of the new series, "Monsters of the UFO" that she and her boyfriend Barry Conrad had produced for television.

Ironically, her first symptoms of failing health occurred while in Point Pleasant, West VA while investigating tales about the mysterious Mothman creature. After being diagnosed with cancer in December, 2004, Lisa bravely fought her way back to health several times. She had been placed on various chemos that at first promised new hope, but were later defeated by the deadly disease.

In June, after undergoing four weeks of intensive radiation therapy, Lisa was sent home where she was placed under stringent hospice care. On the day she left the hospital, she asked her boyfriend, Barry Conrad, to hold her hand when she died. She said she felt a dark cloud descending upon her, something that she would not survive. Barry, of course, agreed but constantly tried to uplift her spirits by keeping her on a positive track even though the situtation was bleak.

During her tenure at home, Lisa's pulse rate grew high and her condition deteriorated rapidly. For three solid days, Lisa could no longer open her eyes and was unable to eat or drink. In the early morning hours of July 25, Barry sat down by her bedside as was his custom before retiring for the evening. As he took her hand in his own, he noticed that her breathing was very erratic. Although she appeared to be in a coma, he spoke gently to her, trying to see if she might respond. The only thing that caught his attention was a twitch of one of her eyelids. After spending twenty minutes by her side, Lisa finally took one last breath and passed away. It was a tragic moment yet something about her spirit hung on to the last, fulfilling her wish to die holding his hand in her own.

Although we're sure that Lisa's spirit has gone on to a better place in this vast universe, memories of her will live on through her work on this planet. Needless to say, she'll always be missed by those who loved her.
